Authentication

The Color API uses Bearer token authentication. Include your API key in the Authorization header of each request.

Getting Your API Key

1. Sign up at color.koval.dev/auth/signup
2. Email m@koval.dev from the address you signed up with, and we’ll send you a key

A self-serve dashboard for creating and revoking keys is on its way.

Using Your API Key

Include the API key in the Authorization header:

API Key Security

• Never expose your API key in client-side code
• Store keys securely in environment variables
• Rotate keys periodically: email m@koval.dev for a new key and we’ll revoke the old one
